A Day at the 61st Street Farmer’s Market

Written by Amir on May 10, 2010

My grandmother and I worked at the 61St Farm Market.  It was very good to be outside and see all the people purchasing the different things that were for sale.  I met these two young students who had a lot of questions to ask about healthy eating.  They asked me what  Fooditude was all about.  I told them that it was all about eating good food and having a great time eating and learning about its origins.  It rained that day but, we still made it to the market and had a good time.

Raisin Taste Test

Written by Jaye on May 10, 2010

Hi! My name is Jaye and I’m blogging about a Raisin Taste Test that I did. I held the raisin in my mouth for 1 minute. When I first put it in my mouth, it had lots of flavor and it was plump. As time went by the raisin started to flatten and the flavor was going away. By the end of 1 minute the raisin was completely flat and it had no flavor. My hypothesis is that in just one minute, I had sucked all of the flavor out of that raisin. I tested the raisin for a minute and that was pretty cool! Next, I think I will test other foods, like apples, lemons, and carrots for a minute and see what happens!

What foods will you try?

We went on a Friday night and they were very crowded. We had to wait for 1 hour for our table. We were seated in the back room with orange draping on the ceiling. Our waitress was Laura and she told us of the special that night, "Seafood Bastilla"
